God Hides Your Sin

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8 (NLT)

I was trying to get dirt on my father.

I was begging my grandfather to tell me stories about my dad’s naughty childhood.

Instead, this 98 year old man looked at his son and said, “I’ll only say this: I loved him then and I love him now.”

My grandfather reminded me of God in that moment.

God could choose to reveal every bad thing we have thought, said or done.

But God doesn’t.

Because God isn’t out to get us. (<-- click here to tweet that)

God is like my grandfather.

God chooses to cover us with his love.

He hands us his grace and mercy when we least deserve it and says, “I loved you then when you were messing up, hurting people and doing things that didn’t benefit you. And I love you now when you’re still imperfect, stumbling towards me, trying to be a better person.”

No matter what you’ve done God looks at you - his child – and says, “I’ll only say this: I loved you then and I love you now.”

Do you believe this? Ask God to show you in a very personal way his love for you right now and in the past today. (When He does please come share it in the comments).
